FUKURO at ORIGAMI Cup Brewers Competition – A Journey to Nationals!

Continuing effort in competition exposure
On January 21st, FUKURO had the incredible opportunity to participate in the ORIGAMI Cup Brewers Competition in Sibu, Sarawak. This prestigious event gathered 21 skilled competitors from different cafés and roasteries across Sarawak, each bringing their unique approach to coffee brewing.
We proudly sent two participants to represent FUKURO, and we are thrilled to announce that Jian Sze secured the 3rd Runner-Up position! This outstanding achievement means he has officially qualified for the National ORIGAMI Cup Competition in Kuala Lumpur, marking a major milestone for our team.
A Night of Coffee, Learning, and Connections
The night before the competition was an enriching experience filled with coffee sharing sessions and brewing technique discussions. It was an amazing chance for baristas and roasters to exchange knowledge, refine their skills, and build stronger bonds within the coffee community.
Beyond the competition itself, this event provided FUKURO with a fantastic opportunity to connect with roasters and cafés outside of Miri, allowing us to gain deeper insights into the diverse coffee cultures in Sibu, Bintulu, and Kuching. These new relationships open doors for future collaborations and the continuous growth of our coffee journey.
Looking Ahead to Nationals
With Jian Sze securing a well-deserved spot at the National ORIGAMI Cup Competition, we are excited to see how he continues to refine his craft and represent FUKURO on a bigger stage. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to him and gratitude to all who supported us throughout this journey.
